We’re out in Pomona at a historic house that we did some siding on, specifically hardie siding. We worked on the entirety of the house since it was really bad before. We had to get some permits for it and it took a little longer than expected, but we got it done. The homeowners originally wanted to do some rock work and stucco, before finally settling with siding.

You can see the siding texture very vividly in this project. It looks like wood, but it’s not wood. It’s hardie siding. This is the best stuff for the harsh temperatures. It’s cold right now and rain will hit the wall. With hardie siding, you’ll never have to fix your walls.

In over 30 years in business, we’ve never had to replace any hardie siding. It’s almost a lifetime product and the best part is that hardie siding will last longer than stucco. In most cases, stucco will tend to absorb water and it’ll crack or peel your paint. Sure, you could paint over it, but then it will start to bubble over
and no one wants that. What’s unique about this project, aside from really great hardie siding work, is that this home is located in historically protected property. This entire neighborhood in Pomona is under city protection, so since it’s a historical neighborhood, the permit process was extra strenuous. The homeowners originally wanted rock work in front of the home, but the city of Pomona wouldn’t allow us for various reasons. When we requested to add hardie siding instead, we had to give them samples of the material so that it falls under their guidelines. Since the texture is very wood-like, they allowed us to proceed with the project and as you’ll see in the “After” pictures, it looks like a brand new home.
